Augmented Synchronization of Power Systems

Power system transient stability has been translated into a Lyapunov problem of the post-disturbance equilibrium for decades. Despite substantial results, conventional theories suffer from stringent requirement knowing priori. In contrast, wisdom practice, which certificates by only observation converging frequencies and voltages, seems to provide an equilibrium-independent approach. Here, we formulate empirical concept augmented synchronization aim bridge such theory-practice gap. First, derive conditions under convergence implies set, laying first theoretical foundation wisdom. Then, reveal what initial values power can achieve synchronization. Our results open possibility analytic that re-defines nominal motion as rather than certain equilibrium. Single-machine examples IEEE 9-bus well verify our illustrate promising implications.
